FELLOWSHIP OF THE GREYHOUNDZ
Providing a carefree home away from home and rewarding exercises for greyhounds in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne
Testimonials
My greyhound, Zilzie, loved her time with Astrid. Astrid kept us up to date with all of Zilzies antics while we were away and the kids loved hearing tales of her adventures. I highly recommend the Fellowship of the Greyhounds to look after your much loved, (and needy) greyhound.

Astrid does a wonderful job of looking after our nervous boy, Reuben. Astrid provides constant communication and updates on each days walks and activities. I sometimes worry Reuben won’t want to come home after his luxury stay with his friends at Astrid’s home. I highly recommend Astrid, she is the greyhound whisperer!

Our girl Snowy just stayed with Astrid for 8 days while we took our first decent holiday since adopting her three years earlier. Can honestly say that Astrid looked after her as if she was her own. She carefully (and knowledgeably) introduced Snowy to the other resident greys, and kept us updated with daily messages, photos and videos. After the first day I was totally relaxed, as I could see that she was having as good a holiday as we were. We’ll definitely be booking at Fellowship of the Greyz for our future holidays

Testimonials
Goldie has had 2 week long holidays with Astrid over the past few months. On her second visit, she was ridiculously excited when arriving & while happy to see us on pickup, wanted another walk with Astrid. Receiving daily photos or video is wonderful as it shows us how happy she is. Astrid also follows up after her holiday to see how Goldie is settling in.

We've had to spend significant time overseas with family this year, and we've been lucky to leave our beautiful 6 yo grey with Astrid and her pups. Our girl can be nervous and anxious around other dogs, and Astrid has helped her come out of her shell. She's always super excited when we drop her off at Astrid's lovely place in the magical forest! 5 out of 5 stars!

What can I say? Astrid is the most wonderful dog sitter and we are so lucky to have found her. She has taken our Walter in several times over the years but had a longer stint with him recently while we were getting our renovations done. Two days into a month stay Walter had a cyst that burst (a missed pre existing condition we had all missed and the vet said Wally would have had for some months) Astrid informed us and took Mr Walter to our local vet. Despite the ongoing medical care required, Astrid nursed Walter back to health. We would visit Walter on weekends and he would be so calm and content. Happy to see us but also happy to stay with Astrid. Wally is extremely emotional and requires pats around the clock. Astrid went above and beyond for him. Thank you so much Astrid. Walter is not just our baby boy, but yours too! Ps. The pics of the amazing walks he went on were beautiful and put a smile on our faces.

If you’re looking for a sitter for your hound, look no further! Astrid is experienced, knowledgeable, passionate, caring, and looks after your hound like one of her own. My girl recently stayed with Astrid for 10 nights, I received daily photos and videos of her chilling out having a snooze, bonding with the other dogs or out and about on walkies exploring the Dandenongs. Knowing she was being so wonderfully cared for put my mind at ease, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Astrid.

ABOUT FELLOWSHIP OF THE GREYHOUNDZ
The aim of Fellowship of the Greyhoundz is to provide a heaven for greyhounds to make friends, get pats, roach, sleep and snooze, do zoomies, go on adventures and be loved. It is also my aim to provide peace of mind for the humans of greyhounds. The knowledge that their best friend is cared for with love, understanding and competence.
Conveniently located a short 45 minute drive east of Melbourne in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.
GREYHOUND CARE
Knowledgeable, Experienced, Trustworthy & Reliable
I understand that many greyhound owners are anxious about leaving their hounds behind, when they have to go away for work, or they want to travel. We don’t want to kennel our dogs, because of their distinctive racing background. I also recognise that breaks in routine can be very unnerving for hounds as well as humans, and so it is my aim to provide a heaven for these sensitive creatures and peace of mind for their owners: A place to roach. Every greyhound deserves a loving home, a comfortable environment and a life that is satisfying to the mind, soul and body, and I will accommodate your hounds special requirements as each dog is worthy of unique care.
HOW DO I KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT GREYHOUNDS
I offer a unique pet sitting service for greyhounds only. I am a greyhound owner myself, and over the last 5 years, I have successfully fostered over a dozen greyhounds into their forever homes with a variety of foster agencies. I also volunteer regularly at greyhound events. To fulfil my role effectively, I participated in numerous training events regarding how to introduce new dogs into the home, understand greyhound psychology, understanding greyhound behaviour, understanding canine behaviour, how to deal with arising issues between dogs and in dogs, how to nourish and guide dogs into their retirement and into a new home. Only to mention a few. I was lucky enough to be entrusted with a number of greyhounds with challenging behaviours, and I am proud to say that I (together with my greyhound gang) have been able to significantly improve the quality of life of all those dogs entrusted to me, and that all of them have moved on to their forever homes, where they are still thriving. I understand that many hounds are nervous about changes, and my training and experience gives me the skills to not only make your hound comfortable, but to make them look forward to returning. You can rest assured that your hound will be looked after to the highest standard.
ABOUT ME
With 20 years’ experience owning and handling large dogs, you can be assured that your hound is in well-informed and practised hands. I have successfully completed the highest levels of obedience training with dogs, which then let me to instruct obedience classes for puppies as well as adult dogs for several years. Part of my training was understanding canine behaviour, canine psychology and of course the mind of a dog. For years, I also volunteered as part of the Lort Smith Animal Hopital pet therapy program at a local nursing home. I tried my hands at Lure Coursing, Fly Ball, Rally-O and Tracking. Might I just say, that getting a Rhodesian Ridgeback interested in retrieving or tracking is a challenge. However, I did succeed. Let me know what you want for your greyhound, and I will do my best to make it possible.
